Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist I.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine principal and secondary diagnoses and assign appropriate working DRG
• Query and educate providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient conditions
• Maintain accurate records of review and query activities in the CDI software system

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Five years of experience as a Clinical Nurse or Inpatient/Outpatient Coder, or two years as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist
• High acuity RN experience
• Understanding of risk adjusted payment methodologies and coding practices
• Experience in ED, Med Surg, inpatient, or care management settings
