Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist I to work remotely and support accurate clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide education to providers and clinicians to ensure accurate documentation of clinical conditions and procedures
• Review medical records for correct DRG, APC, and HCC assignment, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Conduct reviews in outpatient settings and educate providers on optimal documentation practices

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Five years of experience as a clinical nurse or inpatient/outpatient coder, or two years as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist
• Understanding of risk-adjusted payment methodologies and professional coding and billing
• Experience in chart review or coding is preferred
• Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred
