Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (Remote).

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine medical records for accuracy and completeness
  • Detect and address inconsistencies in documentation impacting coding and patient care
  • Provide guidance on documentation best practices to clinical staff
Required Qualifications and Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or equivalent clinical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years inpatient clinical experience
  • 2+ years of clinical documentation or coding experience
  • Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and related coding systems is preferred
  • CCDS, CDIP, or equivalent certification required or to be obtained within 90 days
