Job Summary
A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (Remote).
Key Responsibilities
- Examine medical records for accuracy and completeness
- Detect and address inconsistencies in documentation impacting coding and patient care
- Provide guidance on documentation best practices to clinical staff
Required Qualifications and Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or equivalent clinical degree
- Minimum of 5 years inpatient clinical experience
- 2+ years of clinical documentation or coding experience
- Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and related coding systems is preferred
- CCDS, CDIP, or equivalent certification required or to be obtained within 90 days
