Job Summary
To support a remote team, the full-time Clinical Genomic Scientist II will interpret diagnostic test results, review relevant medical literature, and assist in variant classification while ensuring compliance with report generation protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret clinical diagnostic testing results and classify genetic variants according to established protocols
- Draft clear and accurate clinical testing reports and provide input on reporting protocols during training sessions
- Collaborate with team members to suggest process improvements and assist in the training of new Clinical Genomic Scientists
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field, or MS in Genetic Counseling or similar scientific discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in genetics literature review, variant classification, or clinical report drafting
- Strong knowledge of human genetics and diagnostic genetic testing methodologies, including next-generation sequencing
- Ability to evaluate genetic data and communicate findings effectively
- Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on continuous improvement
