Job Summary
To support the operations of a busy orthopedic practice, the full-time Clinical Scheduler will manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient documentation while ensuring effective communication with physicians and staff, with potential for remote work on administrative days.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule in-office appointments, procedures, and surgeries while providing backup coverage as needed
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and ensure all necessary medical documentation is complete prior to appointments
- Maintain organized communication channels for patient messages, referrals, and general office duties
Required qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in administrative, medical office, or scheduling roles
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, including CPT and ICD-10 codes
- High school diploma or GED; a two-year college degree is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and basic computer systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred but not required
