Clinical Terminologist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Terminologist to provide leadership in clinical terminology across various health organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide terminology development and implementation efforts, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
• Develop and verify clinical terminology specifications for national initiatives, recommending appropriate standards for interoperability
• Manage the semantic infrastructure and support terminology tooling for clinical care and health IT initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in a clinical specialty; eight years of relevant experience may substitute for education
• Ten years of experience in clinical terminology development and implementation in healthcare information systems
• In-depth experience with mapping clinical data to standards like SNOMED CT, LOINC, and FHIR
• Expertise in designing and updating terminology value sets and ontologies
• Strong knowledge of policies and regulations governing clinical standards terminology
