Clinical Terminologist

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time contract Clinical Terminologist, the successful candidate will standardize data from various health systems by identifying, creating, and validating mappings between medical terms and standardized terminologies while working remotely in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, create, or validate mappings between medical terms from different healthcare systems and standardized terminologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data management processes and deliver improvements in the data pipeline
• Perform data checks and edits to ensure high data quality and maintain effective data standards

Required qualifications

• Education in Medicine or related fields such as Nursing, Pharmacy, or Medical Informatics
• 2+ years of experience in the field of clinical terminology
• 1+ year of practical application in clinical terminologies including SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and LOINC
• Relevant certification such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Understanding of Electronic Medical Records and various medical terms and abbreviations
