Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Clinical Trials Budget Specialist will oversee clinical research budgeting and revenue cycle strategy, negotiating pricing and payment terms for clinical trials while ensuring compliance and fiscal accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive reviews of research study funding documents, including budgets and contracts, while negotiating budgets with study sponsors
- Conduct financial reconciliations post-award to ensure full revenue recovery and manage invoicing processes
- Collaborate with research staff to delineate research care from standard care in consent forms and support faculty in mitigating budget deficits
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, or Health-related field with a minimum of three years of experience in clinical research budget development or related fields
- Experience using OnCore for financial reconciliation
- Proven background as a research study coordinator within an academic medical center, particularly in oncology clinical research
- Familiarity with interpreting contractual documents and negotiating clinical trial budgets
- Knowledge of Medicare Clinical Trials Policy and experience with ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS billing codes
