Job Summary
Collaborating with clinicians to enhance documentation practices, the full-time remote Clinician Documentation Educator will provide tailored education, monitor documentation performance, and ensure compliance with reimbursement guidelines to support excellent patient care.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinates and delivers documentation education to new and existing clinicians, focusing on targeted strategies for improvement
- Reviews clinician documentation to identify trends and compliance issues, providing individualized feedback aligned with coding requirements
- Communicates updates on documentation guidelines and collaborates with hospital personnel to support billing and coding operations
Required qualifications:
- Clinical expertise, preferably in an Emergency Department or Hospital Medicine setting, with nursing experience desired
- Proven experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding; AAPC and CPC certifications preferred
- Background in Quality Improvement or Quality Assurance is beneficial
- Strong analytical and statistical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
