Clinician Documentation Educator

Job Summary

Collaborating with clinicians to enhance documentation practices, the full-time Clinician Documentation Educator will provide tailored education, monitor documentation performance, and ensure compliance with reimbursement guidelines in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinates documentation education efforts for new and existing clinicians, focusing on targeted strategies
• Evaluates clinician documentation to identify trends and compliance issues, providing individualized feedback for improvement
• Delivers educational materials and updates clinicians on changes to documentation guidelines related to regulations and standards

Required qualifications:

• Clinical expertise, preferably in an ED and/or HM setting; nursing experience is desired
• Proven experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding; AAPC and CPC certifications are preferred
• Background in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance is beneficial
• Strong analytical and statistical skills
• Excellent presentation and organizational skills
