Clinician Documentation Educator

Job Summary

Collaborating with clinicians to enhance documentation practices, the full-time Clinician Documentation Educator will provide tailored education, monitor documentation performance, and ensure compliance with reimbursement guidelines in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver documentation education to new and existing clinicians, focusing on targeted strategies for improvement
• Review clinician documentation to identify trends and compliance issues, providing individualized feedback aligned with billing and coding requirements
• Communicate updates on documentation guidelines and collaborate with hospital personnel to support billing and coding operations

Required qualifications:

• Clinical expertise, preferably in an Emergency Department or Hospital Medicine setting, with nursing experience desired
• Proven experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding; AAPC and CPC certifications preferred
• Background in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance is beneficial
• Strong analytical and statistical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
