Cloud Data Architect
Job Summary
To support the VA team, the remote Cloud Data Architect will design and own the technical architecture of an enterprise-scale, multi-cloud data and analytics platform, focusing on Azure and Azure Databricks while ensuring data governance and compliance for sensitive Veteran information.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and document cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure Databricks
- Lead modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering
- Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for handling sensitive Veteran PII and PHI
Required qualifications:
- Proven experience designing and managing enterprise cloud data architectures in Azure
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads
- Strong background in data governance, security compliance, and federal data standards including FISMA and NIST 800-53
- Experience with large-scale data migration and architecture modernization efforts
- Bachelor's Degree
