Job Summary
Managing the design and administration of database environments, the full-time Cloud Database Administrator will optimize performance and ensure security for various platforms, including AWS Redshift Serverless and Snowflake, while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize database environments supporting the CMS Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) and Payment Reconciliation System (PRS)
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and manage backup and recovery configurations
- Ensure compliance with CMS security controls and support database testing and validation efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 6+ years in database administration with 3+ years on cloud data platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift Serverless and Snowflake for large-scale data warehousing
- Experience with Amazon Athena query optimization and Databricks cluster administration
- Strong SQL skills for performance tuning, schema development, and data migrations
- Familiarity with database security controls including encryption and audit logging
