Cloud Database Engineer

Job Summary

Cloud Database Engineer, responsible for managing databases for a card issuing platform, focusing on automation, performance analysis, and innovative database solutions in a full-time remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support a 24x7 on-call rotation for database services and contribute to technical vision and maintenance of databases
• Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and work on database architecture initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to monitoring and alerting practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer, or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience with cloud-native databases (AWS preferred) and transactional RDBMS
• Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and distributed systems
• Proficient in Python and experienced with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of database administration and performance metrics
