Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
To support the backend platform team, the remote, contract Cloud Engineer will build and maintain cloud pipelines using Go and AWS, focusing on ingestion jobs, SQL queries, and dashboard creation for product and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
- Build ingestion jobs to move device and activity event data into the data lake
- Implement transforms and curated tables on raw event data while maintaining catalog definitions
- Write and tune SQL queries and create dashboards for various teams to monitor system performance and feature adoption
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience building data pipelines or analytics systems on AWS, including S3, Athena, and DynamoDB
- Strong SQL skills with experience in joins, window functions, and aggregation over large event tables
- Hands-on experience in Go, Python, Java, or similar languages for data work
- Experience with streaming data sources such as Kinesis, Firehose, or Kafka
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
