Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

To support the rapid scaling of a modern cloud platform, the full-time Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will own and enhance core compute infrastructure across multiple cloud providers, focusing on Kubernetes and container orchestration while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve Render's compute platform, ensuring performance and flexibility for user services
• Investigate and resolve complex cloud and compute issues across the infrastructure stack
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a stable, secure, and reliable platform

Required qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in building and operating large-scale platform or compute infrastructure
• Deep expertise in operating and scaling Kubernetes clusters or similar orchestration systems
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or similar languages for developing custom infrastructure components
• Strong experience in designing and operating distributed systems
• Experience with planning and executing rapid upgrades with minimal service downtime
