Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

To support the scientific research community, the remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will manage and optimize the Google Cloud Platform environment, ensuring system reliability and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize cloud resources, including Compute Engine instances and databases, while implementing logging and monitoring systems
• Ensure platform performance and availability, especially during high-traffic periods, and maintain disaster recovery procedures
• Design and execute data migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and collaborating with development teams for database optimization

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
• Strong experience with Linux system administration and command-line tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline management and automated deployment strategies
• Proficient in database administration, particularly with MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch
