Cloud Monitoring Engineer

Job Summary

To support a mission-critical Department of Veterans Affairs platform, the full-time remote Cloud Monitoring Engineer will build, tune, and maintain the observability stack for over 300 applications, ensuring automated alerting and real-time monitoring of key performance metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Capabilities and Services Dashboard to monitor real-time latency, error rates, saturation, volume, and incident-free availability
• Configure and tune automated monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify production issues
• Coordinate with on-call Site Reliability Engineers during incidents, providing real-time data and historical trend analysis

Required qualifications

• 5 years of experience in cloud monitoring and observability engineering
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Dynatrace Associate certification or equivalent observability platform certification (preferred)
• Experience with AWS CloudWatch and integration with third-party observability tools
• Active Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance or eligibility for it
