Cloud Platform Virtualization Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Virtualization Engineer, this full-time remote position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualization services using VMware and OpenShift, ensuring stability, performance, and security of virtualized workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for the OpenShift Virtualization platform to ensure scalability and resource optimization
- Develop automation solutions for repetitive OSV tasks and implement Site Reliability Engineering principles to enhance platform efficiency
- Implement comprehensive observability solutions and perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues across the global compute environment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on VMware and at least 2+ years in Kubernetes and/or OpenShift Virtualization
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or GitOps
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)
- Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies, along with Linux administration and networking fundamentals
