Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on enhancing cloud security, the full-time remote Cloud Security Engineer will manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud, enforce security policies, and support threat modeling in a hybrid environment for a leading mortgage lender.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and tune Microsoft Defender for Cloud to remediate misconfigurations and excessive access
• Enforce security guardrails using Azure Policy and conduct access reviews with Microsoft Entra ID
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and support cloud threat hunting and incident response

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in cloud security or engineering, specifically with Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Entra ID
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and CI/CD security in GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel for data ingestion and security monitoring
