Cloud Security Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of security engineers, the full-time remote Cloud Security Engineering Manager will oversee the security of Airbnb's cloud infrastructure and data platforms, set the technical direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team focused on cloud infrastructure security, data security, and identity access controls
• Drive the team's roadmap in alignment with organizational security priorities while balancing automation and partnership
• Guide the team through complex architectural decisions and communicate technical direction to senior leadership

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in security engineering and 3+ years in people management
• Proven leadership in security engineering teams working on cloud infrastructure or data security at scale
• Deep understanding of modern cloud security practices, including IAM and network security
• Experience with Kubernetes, container security, and cloud-native detection controls
• Strong partnership skills and ability to communicate technical decisions to executive audiences
