COBOL Developer with Security Clearance
Job Summary
Seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with a Secret security clearance, the remote position will maintain and enhance legacy systems while supporting modernization initiatives, focusing on COBOL programming, JCL, and troubleshooting production issues.
Key responsibilities
- Write and modify COBOL and JCL code, and troubleshoot production issues under guidance
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including application instructions and interface diagrams
- Support system releases and participate in code testing and reviews, while implementing Help Desk resolutions for Level II and III tickets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 8+ years of experience in COBOL programming and 4+ years with JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS
- Experience with mainframe debugging tools and DISA mainframe environments preferred
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (current)
- Working knowledge of COBOL, IBM MVS JCL, and related mainframe technologies
