Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled COBOL Mainframe Developer for a full-time remote position, responsible for maintaining and enhancing online Unemployment and Disability Insurance software systems while collaborating with state agency personnel.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural requirements and advise clients on design
- Design, develop, test, and deploy code on a mainframe platform based on user specifications
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, including specifications and user guides
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 12 years of COBOL programming experience in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment
- Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) and mainframe technologies such as IMS DB and DB2
- Production support experience, including break-fix support and permanent fixes in production
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
