Coding Education Specialist with Licensure

Job Summary

Supporting the facility coding education program, the full-time Coding Education Specialist with Licensure will ensure compliance with industry standards, assist in training new hires, and manage communications within the corporate coding team while working remotely with a flexible schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Coding Education Lead in training new coding department hires on inpatient and outpatient coding standards
• Evaluate and develop coursework to keep coding colleagues updated on regulatory issues
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to address coding and billing operations issues

Required qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CIRCC licensure
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of hospital coding experience in a core area (Inpatient, Outpatient, Surgery, or Emergency Department)
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding principles
• Ability to work remotely and independently, troubleshooting issues in a virtual environment
