Coding Quality Educator

Job Summary

To enhance the coding integrity of the organization, the full-time remote Coding Quality Educator will assist with training new employees, provide ongoing education, and conduct coding reviews while developing documentation to support these activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with new employee training and ongoing department education related to coding and clinical documentation
• Conduct independent and collaborative provider coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan
• Develop appropriate documentation to support coding review work performed and facilitate improvement in documentation and coding

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders or American Health Information Management Association upon hire
• 4 years of professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, E/M, auditing, and related work experience
• 4 years of experience conducting medical coding provider audits and preparing audit reports with recommendations
• Strong experience in Excel, database, e-mail, and Internet applications on a PC in a Windows environment
