Coding Quality Educator

Job Summary

Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the PCN Coding Integrity Team, the full-time remote Coding Quality Educator will conduct training for new employees, develop ongoing provider education related to coding and clinical documentation, and perform coding reviews to ensure compliance and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate new employee training and ongoing education for coding and clinical documentation
• Conduct independent and collaborative coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan
• Develop documentation to support coding review findings and recommendations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders or the American Health Information Management Association upon hire
• 4 years of experience in professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, and auditing
• 4 years of experience conducting medical coding provider audits and preparing audit reports
• Strong experience with Excel and database applications in a Windows environment
