Coding Quality Educator

Job Summary

Supporting the PCN Coding Integrity Team, the full-time remote Coding Quality Educator will assist in training new employees, deliver ongoing education for providers, and conduct coding reviews to ensure compliance and quality in clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with new employee training and ongoing department education related to coding and clinical documentation
• Conduct independent and collaborative provider coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan
• Develop documentation to support coding review work and provide feedback to improve coding practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders or the American Health Information Management Association upon hire
• 4 years of experience in professional fee inpatient, surgical, outpatient coding, E/M, auditing, and related work
• 4 years of experience conducting medical coding provider audits and preparing audit reports
• Strong experience in Excel, database applications, and other PC-based applications in a Windows environment
