Coding Quality Educator

Job Summary

Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the PCN Coding Integrity Team, the full-time remote Coding Quality Educator will conduct provider coding reviews, facilitate new employee training, and develop ongoing education related to coding and clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative provider coding reviews according to the coding integrity work plan
• Assist in the training and education of new employees and ongoing department staff
• Develop and deliver provider education and training related to coding and clinical documentation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Health Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• National Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders or the American Health Information Management Association upon hire
• 4 years of professional coding experience in inpatient, surgical, and outpatient settings
• 4 years of experience conducting medical coding audits and preparing audit reports with recommendations
• Strong experience in Excel and other database applications in a Windows environment
