Coding Quality Specialist
Job Summary
To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time remote Coding Quality Specialist will monitor and improve coding processes, develop quality assurance programs, and provide education and training to healthcare professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement coding quality assurance programs to evaluate accuracy and compliance of medical coding practices
- Analyze medical records and documentation to assess adequacy and specificity supporting assigned codes
- Foster effective communication with healthcare providers and coders to address coding-related inquiries and resolve issues
Required qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding
- 5+ years of medical coding experience
- 1+ years of quality assurance experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
- Strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulations set by organizations like the AMA and CMS
