Collection Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Collection Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle Management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage collection processes related to medical accounts receivable, focusing on cash collections and accounts over 90 days
• Research outstanding balances, take necessary collection actions, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
• Negotiate payment plans and interact with third-party collection agencies while maintaining professional communication with team members

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college is a plus
• Minimum of one year of experience in medical collections with knowledge of managed care and insurance reimbursement
• Familiarity with automated billing systems; experience with CPR+ preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting practices and coding (ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to type 40 wpm and use a 10-key calculator
