Collections Lead Specialist

Job Summary

Leading a team of Collections Specialists, the full-time remote Collections Lead Specialist will manage accounts receivable follow-up and denial resolution while providing coaching and support to enhance team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Collections Specialists, ensuring accountability for follow-up and documentation standards
• Directly manage a portion of the Tier 3 AR portfolio, handling payer follow-up and complex denial resolutions
• Monitor team performance against KPIs and identify systemic issues, providing data-supported recommendations to leadership

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management with a focus on collections and AR follow-up
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or training billing specialists in an RCM environment
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, for data management and reporting
• Expert-level knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding, as well as payer policies and claim adjudication
• Proficiency with EHRs, clearinghouse platforms, payer portals, and CRM systems like Salesforce
