Collections Officer

Job Summary

Empowering members during challenging financial times, the fully remote Collections Officer will utilize collections expertise to contact members, resolve outstanding debts, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Contact members to find suitable resolutions for delinquent accounts and implement necessary actions
• Discuss financial arrangements, inform members of potential legal actions, and provide financial counseling for payment plans
• Analyze delinquency reports and maintain accurate collection records while collaborating with team members for effective strategies

Required qualifications

• Previous collections experience in a financial institution
• Knowledge of collection procedures, laws, and regulations
• Understanding of Credit Union loan products, policies, and default clauses
• Basic understanding of U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Small Claims Court system
• High school diploma or equivalent
