Collections Representative

Job Summary

To support effective account resolution, the contract-to-hire Collections Representative will engage with individuals who have outstanding education-related balances, guiding them toward manageable repayment solutions while working in a call center environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage outbound and inbound outreach to individuals with past due balances, focusing on securing payments or establishing repayment plans
• Deliver consistent results in a call-driven environment, maintaining a steady pace of communication while meeting performance expectations
• Maintain organized and accurate account records using Excel, including updates to payment tracking and automatic payment details

Required qualifications

• Previous experience in collections, preferably in third-party or financial account recovery environments
• Ability to succeed in a metrics-driven setting that emphasizes productivity and accountability
• Comfortable working remotely with strong time management and self-direction
• Intermediate Excel skills, including managing data without disrupting formulas or structure
• Effective communication skills to handle sensitive financial discussions and maintain consistent follow-up
