Collections Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Collections Specialist (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and collect outstanding claims through direct payer contact and EDI/Claims systems
• Research and resolve payment issues/errors for insurance balances
• Handle retro-authorizations and work payer denials for reimbursement of denied services

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of medical office or medical billing/collections experience in a hospital or centralized billing setting
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9/10 codes
• Familiarity with insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) and claims processing requirements
• Solid skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
