Collections Specialist

Job Summary

To support the financial health of the organization, the full-time remote Collections Specialist will manage patient communications to collect outstanding balances, process account adjustments, and establish payment plans while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Contact patients to collect payments on outstanding balances and establish payment plans for past due accounts
• Process account adjustments and post patient payments while managing incoming and outgoing calls professionally
• Investigate and resolve patient issues, ensuring questions are routed to the appropriate departments

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• 1+ years of experience in collections or customer service; prior experience in receivable accounts or medical billing is preferred
• Proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, and phone systems like Five9 is highly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management skills
