Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Researching unpaid claims and ensuring timely claim adjudication, the full-time remote Collections Specialist will manage denial root causes, identify billing for secondary insurances, and document actions taken for account resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Research unpaid claims and perform follow-up actions to ensure timely adjudication
• Identify and take action for the billing of secondary or tertiary insurances
• Document all actions taken related to account resolution within patient records

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of medical collections experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and HCPCs
• Proficient in analyzing claims to ensure reimbursement aligns with contractual obligations
• Ability to organize work and manage change effectively
