Collections Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Collections Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research unpaid claims, determine denial root cause, and perform appropriate follow-up actions for timely claim adjudication
• Identify and handle billing for secondary or tertiary insurances
• Maintain knowledge of current third-party payer regulations and communicate payer trends to management

Qualifications:

• Results-oriented with experience in medical collections preferred
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with payers, peers, and leadership
• Proficient in analyzing claims and understanding medical terminology, CPT, and HCPCs
• Ability to review and execute payer logic within negotiated contracts
• Prioritize workflow to reduce bad debt and meet productivity and audit standards
