Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Colorado Licensed Accounts Payable Accountant will manage vendor payments, oversee tax obligations, and ensure compliance with financial regulations while working remotely with occasional travel requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Disburse and monitor vendor payments to fulfill financial commitments while ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, and State Fiscal Rules
- Audit vendor invoices against contracts and manage tax obligations related to daily game winnings to ensure timely compliance with IRS regulations
- Resolve vendor discrepancies and support financial reporting and year-end closing processes
Required qualifications
- Four years of relevant professional accounting or auditing experience
- A combination of education in Accounting, Finance, or Business with coursework totaling 27 semester hours in accounting or auditing
- Current, valid CPA licensure by the Colorado Board of Accountancy may substitute for four years of education
- Experience in applying GAAP and GASB standards in a public sector environment
- Proficiency in managing federal, state, and foreign tax withholdings, particularly for high-value winnings
