Job Summary
To ensure compliance and accuracy in clinical documentation, the full-time Colorado Licensed Clinical Doc Specialist will review medical records, input data into software, and educate healthcare team members on documentation regulations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews concurrent medical records for compliance, completeness, and accuracy regarding severity of illness and risk of mortality
- Educates patient-care team members on documentation regulations and guidelines, ensuring effective communication with physicians and healthcare providers
- Recognizes opportunities for documentation improvement and formulates clinically credible clarifications for inpatients
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of acute care nursing experience in medical/surgical, intensive care, post-acute care, or emergency department settings
- Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC), Registered Nurse (RN), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required
- Strong knowledge of pathophysiology, disease processes, and treatments
- Experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
