Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Colorado Licensed ER Coding Analyst will accurately assign ICD-10 CM diagnosis codes and CPT codes for emergency departments, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and documentation requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze emergency department records to assign appropriate ICD-10 CM and CPT codes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of coding and documentation, resolving discrepancies as needed
- Monitor and respond to coding denials, appeals, and audits while maintaining current knowledge of coding updates
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems
- Ability to complete and pass an internal coding exam
- Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
