Colorado Licensed Medical Director

Job Summary

To support ongoing medical necessity determinations, the part-time contract Medical Director Associate will conduct clinical case reviews, engage in physician-to-physician calls, and ensure adherence to medical policies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Complete timely clinical case reviews for post-acute care requests
• Conduct physician-to-physician calls to gather relevant clinical information
• Document decisions and collaborate with nursing/utilization management staff for efficient throughput

Required qualifications

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO degree
• Minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in inpatient or post-acute care
• At least 1 year of experience in conducting medical-necessity clinical case reviews
• Proven ability to apply clinical criteria and communicate decisions effectively
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to meet turnaround-time requirements
