Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Financial Advocate to provide financial counseling to patients regarding medical assistance eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling and assistance to patients and families regarding insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs
• Identify and facilitate applications for financial assistance programs for eligible patients
• Document financial counseling activities in the electronic health record system and collaborate with other departments to enhance patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient access, or customer service roles
• Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, insurance billing, and medical terminology
• Proficiency in interpreting insurance Explanation of Benefits
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
