Job Summary

Leading the legal strategy for critical payments partnerships, the full-time Commercial Counsel, Licensed Attorney will manage the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements while collaborating cross-functionally to drive innovative deal structures in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the drafting, negotiation, and execution of tailored commercial agreements with strategic partners in the payments and fintech sectors
• Develop novel agreement frameworks and provide practical legal advice that balances risk with business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and accelerate deal timelines across the payments portfolio

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of transactional legal experience in-house or at a leading law firm, with a JD and an active U.S. state license
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements with fintechs, banks, and payment networks
• Experience navigating regulated financial services environments and translating regulatory changes into commercial guidance
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume deal pipeline with precision in drafting and risk assessment
• Familiarity with utilizing generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency and output quality
