Commercial Counsel - Music Licensing

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Commercial Counsel, Music & Media Licensing (Contract).

Key Responsibilities

• Support a global music publishing licensing team on licensing transactions and related legal matters
• Assist in the design and execution of due diligence projects related to music rights and licensing
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and extensions with major music publishers

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership
• 4-8 years of experience in commercial contracting, media, or licensing-focused legal roles
• Extensive experience in at least one of the following industries: Music, Media / digital content, or News / publishing
• Strong experience with music sync licensing and rights clearance
• Experience assessing litigation and rights-related risk
