Job Summary

Seeking a Commercial Counsel (State Licensed) to own and elevate the commercial legal function in a full-time remote capacity, where the successful candidate will manage commercial contracting, provide practical guidance to the business, and leverage AI tools to enhance legal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial contracting end to end, including structuring, drafting, negotiating, and advising on various agreements
• Act as the trusted advisor to the business, providing clear and practical legal guidance to facilitate deal closures
• Identify complex legal issues and involve the appropriate experts while maintaining ownership of the deal process

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house time at a high-growth company
• Strong background in commercial contracting, including B2B and SaaS agreements
• Experience advising non-legal business teams and translating legal conclusions into actionable guidance
• Deep expertise in contracting, particularly in IP, technology licensing, and data rights
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing in any state or authorized to practice law
