Job Summary

Leading the legal strategy for key payments partnerships, the full-time Commercial Counsel - State Licensed will manage the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance deal-making efficiency in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and execute tailored commercial agreements with strategic partners in the payments and fintech sectors
• Develop innovative agreement frameworks and provide business-centric legal advice that balances risk and flexibility
• Collaborate with various teams to resolve complex issues and accelerate deal timelines across the payments portfolio

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of transactional legal experience, with a JD and an active license in a U.S. state
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements with fintechs and financial institutions
• Experience navigating regulated financial services environments and translating regulations into commercial guidance
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume deal pipeline with precision in drafting and risk assessment
• Experience utilizing generative AI responsibly to improve workflow efficiency and quality
