Job Summary
Serving as a strategic legal advisor, the full-time Commercial Counsel - State Licensed will manage complex commercial negotiations, draft and review technology contracts, and ensure compliance with data privacy laws in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology contracts, including SaaS subscription agreements and vendor agreements, while driving standardization and mitigating legal risks
- Act as an escalation point for complex deal issues and collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate timely contract execution
- Maintain knowledge of applicable privacy laws, such as HIPAA, and advise on legal implications during negotiations
Required Qualifications
- JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state
- 5+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer in the technology industry or at a leading law firm
- Solid understanding of corporate, commercial, and intellectual property law, with experience in technology-related subscription agreements
- Demonstrated knowledge of data privacy laws, including HIPAA
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and provide actionable legal guidance to executives
