Commercial Credit Underwriter

Job Summary

Evaluating the financial strength of borrowers, the full-time salaried Commercial Credit Underwriter will underwrite acquisition and wholesale transactions while collaborating with various teams to support sound credit decisions and portfolio growth.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite acquisition and wholesale transactions, including structured financing and loan purchases
• Conduct financial analysis of borrowers, guarantors, and counterparties with a focus on C&I and CRE credit exposure
• Prepare credit memos and present findings to the credit committee while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting, specifically in C&I and CRE lending
• Demonstrated experience with acquisition or wholesale transactions, including loan purchase activity
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling
• Familiarity with credit policy development and regulatory compliance requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; experience with loan origination systems preferred
