Job Summary
As the first dedicated Commercial Legal Director in a full-time remote capacity, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of commercial contracting and legal support for revenue-generating activities, focusing on structuring, negotiating, and closing agreements while collaborating with various departments to streamline deal execution.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of customer software license, SaaS, partner, reseller, and vendor contracts
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Revenue Operations to support deal strategy and enhance deal execution efficiency
- Establish and scale contracting frameworks and templates to improve deal velocity and reduce legal escalations
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- 8-12+ years of legal experience with a strong focus on commercial contracting
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex SaaS or software agreements in a high-growth or technology environment
- Familiarity with major privacy frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, and experience negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
- Experience building or improving contracting processes, templates, and deal governance models
