Commercial Legal Head

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Head of Commercial Legal.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts including various agreements with school districts and vendors
• Collaborate with Sales and Legal leadership to establish playbooks that enhance deal cycles and compliance
• Provide legal guidance on data privacy, risk mitigation, and contract strategy while supporting cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

• JD or equivalent with 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience
• Deep experience with commercial transactions, preferably in technology or edtech
• Strong skills in drafting and negotiating various contracts, including SaaS agreements
• Knowledge of U.S. data privacy laws and familiarity with international frameworks like GDPR
• Experience in negotiating with K-12 districts and understanding public procurement processes is a plus
